Important Prieur Mask Notice

Dear fencing enthusiast,

Prieur Sports has an unrivalled 50 years’ experience in the design of this mask and over 240 years’ expertise in the manufacture of fencing equipment. So it’s no surprise that Prieur has an excellent reputation for safety.
We are pleased to share important information and recommendations with you to ensure maximum safety and optimum performance from your fencing mask.
Our fencing mask has been designed to ensure your protection. Its metal ring is continuously welded to ensure the integrity of the metal frame. Its special shape (curved at the top) has been carefully designed to accommodate the rubber ring of the protective fabric bib. The rubber ring is fitted with a gutter system to fit over the metal ring. This innovative patented combination ensures that the bib stays securely in place during use.
The material of the PRIEUR mask’s rubber ring does not alter over the recommended life span of the mask. Over the years, its performance has been consistently demonstrated in practice, with users noting its exceptional durability and reliability. Historical use has shown that this ring retains its effectiveness for a period of over 20 years, offering lasting protection and peace of mind to fencers of all levels.
However, if you notice that the rubber bib ring has moved away from the welded steel ring, simply reposition it before using the mask. To ensure optimum safety, check regularly that the rubber ring is firmly in place on the metal ring each time you use the mask.
We recommend that you carry out a quick visual inspection of your mask before each fencing session and whenever the mask has been subjected to impact. By ensuring that all components are correctly adjusted, you are contributing to your own safety and to the longevity of your protective equipment.
If, however, you notice that the elastic continues to move even though it has been correctly repositioned, please contact us.
Thank you for your attention to this information. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
